Literacy programs

Currently, two-thirds of the illiterate population in the world is women, adult as well as young girls. In spite of the important progress accomplished in terms of gender equality in education, the situation is still alarming. Fighting against this scourge is urgent and needs a worldwide effort to put this issue as priority.

The way is still too long to achieve the goal of education for all including female population. In order to achieve the goal of women literacy it is necessary to identify the main methods and techniques and set up a program in order to succeed. This is to insure the quality and efficiency of non-formal literacy and education for women.

The World’s organizations, the international community and the different states deploy their efforts to improve the education of women.

Algeria has a little over 15 % illiterate. The sustainable actions are taken in different stages in order to stop ilitteracy  in the near future and integrate this fringe of society in the environment of progress and knowledge. National Office of Literacy and Adult Education and national associations such as IQRAA Association militate in this direction.
